Make and edit images with AI # Make and edit images with AI Generate images and backgrounds from a description, edit an image with words, or remove its background, in the editor and in Assets. You can create and edit images with AI in any image field in the editor and in your **Assets**. ## Generate an image 1. Click the **Actions** button (three dots) on an image field and choose **Generate image**. 2. Choose the **Image type**: **Normal image** or **Background image**. 3. Choose the **Image size**: **Recommended** (the best size for that spot), **Square (1:1)**, **Landscape (16:9)**, **Landscape (4:3)**, **Portrait (9:16)** or **Portrait (3:4)**. 4. Turn on **Transparent background** if you need a cut-out, for example for a product or prize. 5. Describe the image under **Prompt**, for example "A golden trophy with confetti on a purple background". 6. Click **Generate image** and confirm. The image is added to the field. ## Edit an image with words 1. Open the image's **Actions** menu and choose **Edit image**. 2. Under **Prompt**, describe the change, for example "Make the sky blue". 3. Turn on **Transparent background** if the result should be a cut-out. 4. Click **Save changes** and confirm. ## Remove the background Choose **Remove background** in the image's **Actions** menu. The background is made transparent. ## In Assets Go to **Settings** > **Assets**: - **Generate image with AI** makes a new image with the same options as above. - On an image, open **Actions** and choose **Edit with AI** or **Remove background**. - To remove the background of many images at once, select them and click **Remove background**. A new image is made for each one, and your originals are kept. Edited images are kept as versions of the original. Turn on **Group versions** to see them together. ## Ask Rex In the editor, Rex can make two kinds of images for you: - **Prize images**: "Make a prize image of a gift card", "Edit the prize image so the box is red", "Remove the background of the prize image". - **Backgrounds in the design kit**: "Create a summer beach background for desktop and mobile", "Make the background darker", "Remove the background of the background image". For other images, use **Generate image** on the image field. ## Tips - Describe the subject, the style, the colors and the mood: "flat illustration, pastel colors, cheerful". - For prizes and products, turn on **Transparent background**. - Use **Recommended** size so the image fits its spot. Backgrounds fill the whole area and may be cropped at the edges. - Don't use AI to copy other brands' logos, real people or products, and check that the image fits your brand. ## AI tokens Each generated, edited or cut-out image uses AI tokens. When Rex makes a background for both desktop and mobile, that counts as two images.
