Rex is the AI assistant built into Scratcher. Rex knows the platform inside out, answers your questions any time of day, looks up your own numbers and settings, and can make many changes for you when you ask.
Open Rex and ask a question
- Click the round chat button in the bottom-right corner of any page.
- The chat opens on the Rex tab. It is marked "Rex is an AI assistant — always online, 24/7".
- Write your question in the input and press Enter. On the platform the input says Ask me anything…, in the campaign editor it says Ask about this campaign….
- Rex answers right away. If you asked for a change, Rex makes it and confirms what it did.
Write in your own language. Rex answers in the language of your latest message, and quotes buttons and menus exactly as they appear on your screen, so you can find them.
Two places, one conversation
Rex works in two places, and knows different things in each.
- On the platform (everything outside the editor), Rex helps with your account: finding campaigns, your plan and AI tokens, users, leads, integrations, the Plan calendar, data settings and embed scripts. On some pages Rex can do extra things, for example filter the Campaigns list or the Leads list, or generate activities on the Plan page. On a campaign's dashboard, Rex can read that campaign's statistics and change the dashboard's period.
- In the campaign editor, Rex knows the campaign you have open: its pages and elements, the page you are looking at and the element you have selected, its prizes, settings, design kit, emails, integrations and statistics. This is where Rex can change texts, design, settings and prizes.
It is the same conversation in both places, so you can start a question on the platform and continue it in the editor.
In the editor, the chat button also shows short messages: Need a hand?, Saving..., Everything is saved!, or Some important items need attention. when the editor has found errors. Ask Rex "What needs attention?" to get the list.
What Rex can help with
- Answer how-to questions about every part of Scratcher: games, prizes, forms, popups, calendars, emails, integrations, publishing and more.
- Look things up in your account: your plan and its limits, your trial end date, your AI tokens, your campaigns, leads, winners, statistics, integrations and notes.
- Take you there: open a page of the platform, a campaign, a campaign's tab, an editor panel or the exact element and tab where a setting lives.
- Make changes: texts, translations, design kit, images, campaign settings, prizes, popup display rules, calendar settings, data settings and campaign tags.
- Check your setup: editor errors, the health check, whether your embed script runs on your website, and why a prize, popup or email isn't working.
- Connect you with our team when you need a person.

Tips for good answers
- Be specific. "Set the win chance of the gift card prize to 5%" works better than "change the win chance". If a value is missing, Rex asks you for it instead of guessing.
- Select first, then ask. In the editor, click the text or element you mean and ask about "this text" or "the selected button". Rex sees which element you have selected.
- Ask "how do I…" to learn, ask "please do…" to act. Rex only changes things when you clearly ask for the change. A how-to question gets an explanation.
- Ask one thing at a time for big changes, and check the result before the next step.
- Tell Rex when something has changed. If you just added a user or fixed a setting, say so, and Rex checks again.
- Fill in your AI profile. Rex uses your company description, tone of voice and goal to tailor its suggestions and texts. See Set up your AI profile.
Rex speaks up sometimes
Rex may start the conversation itself, for example:
- when your trial is about to end,
- when you have no campaigns yet, no live campaigns, or no popup yet,
- when your company profile is missing details, so Rex can open the form for you,
- when you open the templates, to help you find the right template,
- when you open the Plan page with only a few activities, to offer to generate a plan.
Click Don't ask again for a couple days if you'd rather not get a suggestion.
A guided tour
On some accounts, Rex can give you a guided product tour of Scratcher, with a spoken voice. Ask "Show me around" or "Give me a tour". Rex asks which language you want and whether you want voice. During the tour you can Pause, Resume, Mute or Skip tour, or ask Rex to pause, restart or stop it. The tour is being rolled out, so you may not see it on your account yet.
Good to know
- Chatting with Rex is free. Rex tells you before it does something that uses AI tokens, such as making an image or translating a campaign. See AI tokens and privacy.
- Rex remembers the last few messages of the conversation, not older chats. Click Clear conversation to start over.
- Rex works with your own permissions. If your role can't do something, Rex can't do it for you either, and tells you why.
- Rex is an AI. It can make mistakes, so check important changes before you publish.
- Rex isn't available after a trial has ended, but you can still chat with our team.
- Rex can't see screenshots. To show what you see, describe it, or paste the error text. You can attach images when you chat with our team.
Talk to a person
