Send emails to players # Send emails to players Send prize emails, confirmations and reminders from your campaign with the email module. With the email module, your campaign can send emails to players: a prize email with their discount code, a thank-you email, a double opt-in confirmation or a reminder during a calendar campaign. The email module is an add-on, or part of plans that include it. If it isn't on your plan, **Emails** shows an upgrade note. ## Create an email 1. In the editor, open **Connect** > **Emails**. The editor switches to your campaign's emails. 2. Click **Add email** for an event email, or **Add prize email** for an email about a specific prize. **Add default prize email** is used for all prizes that don't have their own. 3. Choose a starting point: **Welcome**, **Reminder**, **Double opt-in**, **Double opt-in confirm**, **No prize**, **Special offers**, **Campaign end** or **Blank**. If there are ready-made designs, pick one. 4. Design the email like a page: add texts, images, buttons, dividers, social icons and an **Unsubscribe** link, and use dynamic tags such as the prize's discount code. The design kit has its own email background color. 5. Open the email's settings (**Edit email**) and fill in **Name**, **Subject** and **Pre-header** (the short text shown after the subject in the inbox). 6. Choose when the email is sent under **Type**, and the **Timezone** on the **Settings** tab. ## When emails are sent - **Send when a specific event happens**: for example "When a lead wins a prize", "When a lead participates in a campaign" or "When the lead has confirmed their subscription". Turn on **Delay sending of email** and set the **Amount of minutes to delay** to send it a little later. - **Send at a specific date**: one send at the **Send time** you choose. - **Send on a recurring schedule during a period**: choose the **Send period** (the dates the email should be sent between), the **Frequency** (**Daily** or **Weekly**), the **Day of the week** and the **Send time**. For example a daily reminder to open today's calendar door. On the email's **Styles** tab you set the **Background color**, or click **Reset to design kit**. The header and footer sections of an email are shared with all emails in the campaign. ## Activate the email New emails are drafts and are not sent. When the email is ready, click **Activate email** in the top-right corner. Once it is active, the button says **Update email**. If the subject or the schedule is missing, the button turns orange. The email list shows each email's status: **Draft**, **Active**, **Ready** (a one-time email waiting for its date) or **Sent**. ## Other email actions In an email's menu: - **Send preview**: send a test to your own address. The email needs a subject first. - **Duplicate**: make a copy, for example for a reminder. - **Save as template**: reuse the design in other campaigns. - **Delete**: removes the email right away, without asking. When you publish the campaign, Scratcher warns you if some emails are still inactive. ## Sender Emails are sent with your account name as sender name unless you fill in **Sender name (optional)**. To send from your own address, such as news@yourbrand.com, set up an email domain. See [Send emails from your own domain](https://scratcher.io/help/sharing/email-sending-domain). Turn on **Enable email tracking** to see opens and clicks. ## See the results The campaign's **Emails** tab shows how many emails were sent, opened and clicked, and how many bounced or led to an unsubscribe. ## Emails at a glance - The email list has two groups: **Prize emails** and **Event emails**. - **Add prize email**: choose the prize under **Select prize**. - **Send preview**: type the address under **Enter an email**. - **Sender name (optional)**: "The default is your account name". - Without the **Email sender** add-on, the settings say "Add this feature to send emails from your own domain" with a **Go to Add-ons** button. With it, but no verified domain yet, click **Set up email domain**.
