# Page settings, backgrounds and popup pages

Set a page's background, align its content, turn a page into a popup, hide the header and refresh the page automatically.

Every page has its own settings. Click **Edit background** above the page (Ctrl/Cmd+B), or choose **Edit background** in the page's menu under **Flow**.

## Background

On the **Styles** tab, choose the page **Background**:

- **Color**: one color for the whole page.
- **Image**: an image with **Placement** at the **Top**, **Center** or **Bottom**.
- **Video**: a YouTube, Vimeo or your own video playing behind the page. Choose the **Video format**: 1:1, 4:3, 9:16 or 16:9.

The background from your design kit is used until you change it. Use separate desktop and mobile backgrounds in the design kit for the best result on phones.

Set the **Gap** between the elements on the page.

## Page settings

On the **Settings** tab:

- **Content alignment**: put the content at the **Top**, in the **Center** or at the **Bottom** of the screen.
- **Hide header on page** and **Hide footer on page**, if your campaign has a header or footer.
- **Type**: **Page** or **Popup**. A popup page opens on top of the page before it, for example for terms or a confirmation.

For popup pages you can also set the width, **Alignment**, **Border**, **Shape** and **Margin**, turn on **Enable close button** (and style it with **Edit styling**), and choose **Fill entire screen**.

## Effects

On the **Effects** tab, give the page an entry and exit animation, or **Page default** to use the animation set for the whole campaign. Add **Fireworks**, **Snow** or **Confetti** to the page. See [Animations, confetti and other effects](https://scratcher.io/help/campaigns/animations-and-effects).

## Refresh the page automatically

The page add-on **Refresh page** reloads the page after a number of seconds you choose. It is useful for campaigns on a screen in a store or at an event, so the start page comes back after each player.

With **Refresh page**, set the **Amount of seconds before refreshing**.

The add-on's description reads "Automatically refresh the page after a set number of seconds".
