# Every form add-on

Captcha, autosave, double opt-in, address lookup, confirmation and error popups, show the form after the game, multi-step forms, the unique field and where people go after the form.

Add-ons are extra features you switch on when you need them. They keep the form panel simple until then.

## Turn on a form add-on

1. Click the form.
2. At the bottom of the **Content** tab, click **Form add-ons** (tooltip **Advanced extensions**).
3. Turn on the add-on with its switch.
4. If the add-on has settings, click the cog to open them.

The add-ons you have turned on are listed in the panel, so you can see at a glance what is on.

## Captcha

Protects your form against spam and bots. A captcha field is added at the bottom of the form, where you choose its **Theme** and **Size**.

The captcha only appears when Scratcher sees signs of unusual activity. Normal players don't see it and sign up without extra steps. Turn on **Always show captcha** if you want everyone to complete it. In the editor, the captcha is always shown so you can style it. See [Stop cheating and spam](https://scratcher.io/help/forms/prevent-cheating).

## Autosave form fields

When someone has sent the form, what they typed is remembered on their device. If they come back to the campaign later, the fields are already filled in, so returning players sign up faster. Passwords are never remembered. This add-on is on for new forms; turn it off if people share a device, for example on a tablet at a fair.

## Double opt-in

New sign-ups must confirm their email address with a link before their sign-up counts.

- **Type**: choose **Text** to show a **Confirmation text** after they click the link (for example "Your email has been confirmed."), or **Redirect** to send them to a **Redirect URL**, such as a page on your website.
- **Only when (any of) permissions checked**: only send the confirmation email when people tick one of the chosen consent checkboxes.

You also need a confirmation email. See [Set up double opt-in](https://scratcher.io/help/forms/double-opt-in).

## Adressevælger autocompletion

Suggests Danish addresses while people type, so addresses are complete and correct.

1. Turn on the add-on.
2. Click each text field that should be filled from the address, and under **Adressevælger mapping** choose **Full address**, **Street**, **City** or **Zip**. **None** leaves the field alone.
3. People type in the **Full address** field and pick their address. The other fields are filled in automatically.

Turn on **Hide Adressevælger lead fields** to hide the street, city and zip fields, so people only see the full address field. The values are still saved.

## Popup confirmation

Before the form is sent, people see a popup asking them to confirm, with a **Cancel** and a **Submit** button. A page called **Form confirmation** is added to your campaign, where you can edit the text and the buttons like any other page. **Cancel** closes the popup so people can correct the form, and **Submit** sends it. Turn the add-on off to remove the popup again.

## Require form before

Normally the form is a page in the flow. With this add-on, people go through the campaign first, and the form is shown when they reach a point you choose:

- **Game**: before the game starts.
- **Prize**: before the prize is shown. Turn on **Only show form when winning** so only winners fill it in.
- **Gallery**: before people use the gallery.
- **Quiz result**: before the quiz result. Only shown when the campaign has a quiz.
- **None**: turn it off.

The form page is taken out of the normal page order. Only one form in a campaign can use this add-on; on other forms it shows "Another form is already using this functionality."

## Show popup on error

When something goes wrong while sending the form, for example a missing field, people see a popup with the **Error message** you write here. Useful when the form is long and an error under a field could be overlooked.

## Two-factor authentication

People must type a code that is sent to their email before their sign-up counts. It needs **Email** as the unique field and the **Two-factor authentication** element on the page. This add-on isn't available on every account; contact us if you need it.

## Custom unique field

The unique field decides when two sign-ups are the same person. Normally Scratcher chooses it for you: the email address when the form has a required email field, otherwise the phone number. Turn on this add-on to choose it yourself under **Unique field** on the form's **Content** tab: **Email**, **Phone number** or **Custom token**. **Custom token** uses the **Custom Token** field, for example a member number.

Change the unique field before you launch. If you change it while the campaign is live, the editor warns you, because people could be counted twice or blocked. Some integrations set the unique field themselves, and then this add-on is hidden. See [Hidden fields, prefilled forms and the unique field](https://scratcher.io/help/forms/hidden-fields-and-prefill).

## Multi-step form

People first see only the unique field (email or phone) and the consent checkboxes. When they send it:

- If Scratcher already knows them, the answers they gave before are used, and they continue straight away.
- If they are new, the remaining fields appear, and they fill them in.

This makes returning players' sign-up very fast, while new players still give you all the details.

## Custom submit action

Normally people go to the next page after the form. Under **Navigation after submit**, choose where they go instead, for example a specific page. The options are the same as for buttons; see [Buttons and click actions](https://scratcher.io/help/elements/buttons-and-click-actions).
