- Click the calendar on the page.
- Choose the tab: Content, Styles, Settings or Effects.

Content tab
- Period (Christmas calendar and calendar): the first and last day. Scratcher makes one door for every day in the period. The calendar shows at most 30 doors, so keep the period to 30 days or fewer.
- Items: the list of doors, shown as "Door 1: date", or "Door 1: from – to" when the door covers more than one day. Click a door to open its settings:
- Period: the door's own dates. In an advent calendar, each door has a period (normally one week). In the other calendars, you can only change it when Individual dates on doors is on. Then you choose a date and a time, so a door can open at 08:00 and close at 22:00, or cover a whole weekend.
- Label (advent calendar): the text on the door.
- Enabled (with Individual dates on doors): turn a door off. A disabled door shows no number and can't be opened.
- Image (with Style doors individually): the door's own front image.
The Items list only shows in the calendar and Christmas calendar when Style doors individually or Individual dates on doors is on.
- Doors per row: 1 to 12. On phones, consider fewer doors per row so they are big enough to tap. You can set a different value for phones in the mobile view.
- Navigation (only without the Advanced calendar add-on): what happens when someone opens today's door. Choose Next page, Go to page (and pick the page) or Link (a web address). With the advanced calendar, the door always leads to that day's page, so this setting is hidden.
Styles tab
The Styles tab has three sub-tabs.
Calendar (all doors):
- Font: the font and size of the numbers. Hidden when Hide numbers on doors is on.
- Door background: the color or image on the front of the doors.
- Behind door background: what people see behind a door when it swings open, and on past doors with Hide front of door on past days.
- Text: the color of the numbers.
- Border: the line around the doors.
- Size: the width of the whole calendar (small, medium, full width or your own size).
- Shape: rounded corners.
- Gap: the space between the doors.
- Enable 'door opening' animation: the door swings open before the next page shows. Turn it off to go straight to the page.
Past doors: the Background and Text color of doors whose day is over. Turn on Preview to see past doors in the editor.
Active door: the Background, Text color and Shadow of today's door. Use a strong color or a glow, so people see right away which door to open. Turn on Preview to see the active door in the editor.
Settings tab
- Randomize door order: mixes the doors on the page, like a real advent calendar. Only the place on the page changes. Each door still opens on its own date.
- Only show active doors on mobile: phones only show today's door, so people don't have to scroll. On days without an open door, phones show no door at all.
- Hide front of door on past days: past doors look opened. They show the Behind door background instead of the door front.
- Allow clicking past days: people can open doors from earlier days that they missed. Doors for coming days stay shut.
- Style doors individually: give each door its own image under Items > Image. Past and active door backgrounds still take over when they are set.
- Hide numbers on doors: removes the number or label from all doors.
- Individual dates on doors (calendar and Christmas calendar): set each door's dates and times yourself, and turn single doors off.
Under the settings is the add-on Advanced calendar: "Set a date range and add a different game or prize behind each calendar day". See The advanced calendar.
Effects tab
Under Visual effects, you can turn on Snow to let snow fall over the calendar page.
Ask Rex
The AI assistant Rex can change most calendar settings for you, for example "Show 4 doors per row and let people open past days". Rex can't change the Period: change the dates yourself on the Content tab.
