What is Scratcher?

A quick tour of what Scratcher does, the words we use and how a campaign works from start to finish.

Scratcher is a platform for interactive marketing campaigns. You make a game, a quiz or a calendar, people play to win a prize, and you get their email address, their consent to receive marketing and other details you ask for. No coding or design skills are needed.

How a campaign works

Almost every campaign follows the same simple flow:

  1. A start page invites people to play.
  2. A sign-up form collects details such as name and email, plus consent to your newsletter.
  3. The game is the fun part: a scratch card, a wheel of fortune, a quiz or one of 40+ other formats.
  4. A finish page tells people whether they won and what happens next.

You decide which pages your campaign has. A quiz can have a result page per personality, a calendar has a page behind every door, and a campaign without a prize simply ends with a thank-you page.

Words you will see

  • Campaign: one game or experience with its own pages, prizes and settings.
  • Popup: a campaign that appears on top of your website, for example when a visitor is about to leave.
  • Landing page: a campaign with its own web address that you can share anywhere.
  • Template: a ready-made campaign you start from. Every campaign starts from a template.
  • Element: a building block on a page, such as a text, an image, a button, a form or a game.
  • Design kit: your campaign's colors, fonts, logo and button styles in one place.
  • Lead: a person who has signed up through one of your campaigns.
  • Integration: a connection that sends your leads to another tool, such as your newsletter system or CRM.
  • Rex: the AI assistant built into Scratcher. Rex answers questions and can make changes you ask for.

Where your campaign can run

Every campaign can be shared as a landing page link, a QR code, in newsletters and SMS messages and on social media. You can also embed it in a page on your website or show it as a popup. See Share your campaign link and QR code and Show a campaign as a popup.
