Connect Hello Retail # Connect Hello Retail Create an API key in Hello Retail, connect it, and send new sign-ups to Hello Retail as newsletter subscribers. With the Hello Retail integration, everyone who signs up is sent to Hello Retail as a newsletter subscriber. You can then reach them with Hello Retail's personalised emails and product recommendations. ## What you need - A Hello Retail account with your webshop set up, and a user who can manage API keys (usually an administrator). ## Step 1: Create an API key in Hello Retail 1. Log in to Hello Retail. 2. Open the settings for your account and find **API keys**. 3. Create a new key and name it, for example "Scratcher". 4. Give the key access to subscribers (read and write), so Scratcher can add and update them. 5. Copy the key. > Good to know: if you can't find the menu, search Hello Retail's help center for "API key", or ask your Hello Retail contact. ## Step 2: Connect Hello Retail to Scratcher 1. In Scratcher, go to **Settings** > **Integrations**. Use **By type** > **E-commerce** to find it quickly, and click **HelloRetail**. 2. Paste the API key in the field. 3. Click **Install integration**. Scratcher checks the key with Hello Retail. ## Step 3: Turn it on in a campaign 1. In the editor, go to **Connect** > **Integrations** > **HelloRetail** and click **Activate**. 2. If you have connected more than one account, choose it under **Select account**. 3. Under **External list**, choose the Hello Retail website or list the subscribers should be added to. 4. Under **Field mappings**, click **Add field mapping** and match your extra fields to Hello Retail's subscriber fields, for example first name. 5. Under **Filter by permissions (optional)**, choose your marketing consent checkbox. 6. Click **Save**, and then **Test**. ## Field mapping - The email address is always sent and is used to find the subscriber. You don't need to map it. - Map first name, last name and any other data you want to use in Hello Retail, such as a favourite product from a quiz. ## Consent Hello Retail adds the people you send as newsletter subscribers. So only send people who gave consent: choose your marketing checkbox under **Filter by permissions (optional)** if it's optional on your form. See [Consent and permissions](https://scratcher.io/help/forms/consent-and-permissions). ## What is sent and when New sign-ups are sent within a minute or two, and the campaign's existing leads are sent when you activate it. When someone takes part again, the subscriber is updated. Every delivery shows under **Settings** > **Integrations** > **Delivery status**. ## Troubleshooting - "All or some of the fields are invalid..." when installing: the key is wrong, or was deleted in Hello Retail. Create a new one. - Deliveries fail with an access error: the key doesn't have write access to subscribers. - Nothing arrives: check that a list is chosen under **External list** in the campaign and that you clicked **Save**.
