You connect Scratcher to Podio through Zapier. A Zap takes every new lead from your Scratcher campaign and creates an item in a Podio app, for example a leads app or a prize shipping app.
What you need
- A Zapier account. The free plan works for a simple Zap.
- A Podio user who is a regular member or admin of the workspace. Light members can't create items in all apps.
- A Podio app in the workspace with fields for the data, for example email, phone and text fields.
- A Scratcher plan with integrations, and a campaign with at least one lead to test with.
Step 1: Connect Scratcher to Zapier
If you haven't done it yet, follow Connect 8,000+ apps with Zapier: in Scratcher go to Settings > Integrations > Zapier and click Set up on Zapier.
Step 2: Set up the trigger
- In Zapier, click Create and choose Zaps.
- As the trigger, choose Scratcher and the trigger for new leads.
- Connect your Scratcher account, choose the campaign and click Test trigger.
Step 3: Add the Podio action
- Add the action step and choose Podio.
- As the action event, choose the one that creates an item.
- Connect your account: log in to Podio and click to grant access.
- Choose the Organization, the Workspace and the App.
Step 4: Map the fields
- Each field in the Podio app shows as a field in Zapier. Map the email to the email field and the phone number to the phone field.
- Map names, answers, the sign-up date and the prize to the matching text, date and category fields.
- Category fields need an option that already exists in the app.
Step 5: Test and publish
- Click Test step, and check the new item in Podio. Delete it afterwards.
- Click Publish to turn the Zap on.
Only create items for some leads
Add a Filter by Zapier step after the trigger (a paid Zapier plan). For example, only continue when your marketing permission is true, or when a prize name exists.
Troubleshooting
- Look at the Zap history in Zapier for each run and Podio's error message.
- A field is missing in Zapier: add it to the app in Podio, then click Refresh fields in the Zap.
- The app isn't in the list: the Podio user who connected Zapier isn't a member of the workspace.
