Connect Shopify # Connect Shopify Log in to your Shopify store from Scratcher and see the orders, revenue and new customers your campaigns bring in. The Shopify integration works the other way round from the other integrations: it doesn't send your leads to Shopify. It reads the orders in your Shopify store and shows you how many orders, how much revenue and how many new customers your Scratcher campaigns brought in. ## What you need - A Shopify store, and a Shopify login that is allowed to install apps in the store (the store owner, or a staff member with permission to manage apps). - Your store's Shopify address, the one that ends in .myshopify.com. You find it in the Shopify admin under **Settings** > **Domains**, even if your shop uses its own domain. - A Scratcher plan with integrations. You don't need an API key. You log in to Shopify and approve the access. ## Step 1: Connect your store 1. In Scratcher, go to **Settings** > **Integrations**. Use **By type** > **E-commerce** to find it quickly, and click **Shopify**. 2. Under **Shopify domain**, type your store's address, for example `your-shop.myshopify.com`. 3. Click **Install integration**. You are sent to Shopify. 4. Log in to Shopify if it asks you to. Shopify shows the access Scratcher asks for (see below). 5. Click to install the app. You come back to Scratcher, and Shopify is installed. Each Scratcher account can connect one Shopify store. Scratcher also reads the store's currency, so revenue is shown in the right currency. ## The access Scratcher asks for Shopify asks you to approve these permissions: - Read orders: to find the orders that came from your campaigns. - Read customers: to see whether an order was placed by a new customer. - Read products and read store languages: to read your products. - Write discounts: to create discount codes in your store. Scratcher never changes your orders, customers or products. ## How orders are linked to a campaign There is nothing to turn on in each campaign. Scratcher looks at all orders in the store and links an order to a campaign in two ways: - **Discount codes**: the order used a discount code that a player won in one of your campaigns. Upload your Shopify codes to a prize as codes in Scratcher, and every order that uses one counts for that campaign. See [Give away discount codes](https://scratcher.io/help/prizes/discount-codes). - **Referral links**: the customer came to your shop from a link with `?ref=sc-c-` and the campaign's ID, for example `https://your-shop.com/?ref=sc-c-12345`. Shopify saves the ref value on the order. The campaign ID is the number in the address bar when the campaign is open in the editor. Use it for the buttons and links in your campaign that lead to your shop. Orders without a Scratcher discount code or referral link are not counted. ## See the results 1. Click **Dashboard** in the top bar. 2. Click the search field (**Search dashboards…**) and choose **Shopify** in the list. 3. Pick the period. By default it shows the last week. You see the totals and a chart for each number: - **Order revenue**: the order subtotal (products after discounts, without shipping and taxes). - **Orders**: the number of orders. - **New customers**: orders placed by customers who are new in your shop. You can also add the numbers to your own dashboards. Choose **Shopify - order revenue**, **Shopify - orders** or **Shopify - new customers** as the data when you add a widget. See [Dashboards: overview, custom dashboards and sharing](https://scratcher.io/help/results/custom-dashboards). > Good to know: Scratcher reads your orders once a day, at night, and adds the orders from the day before. Today's orders show tomorrow. ## Disconnect - In Scratcher, open **Shopify** under **Settings** > **Integrations** and click **Uninstall**. - If you remove the Scratcher app in the Shopify admin (**Settings** > **Apps**), Scratcher notices it and removes the connection by itself. Orders that were already counted stay in your dashboards. ## Troubleshooting - You come back from Shopify without a connection: check that you typed the .myshopify.com address and not your own domain, and that your Shopify login may install apps. - No orders show: orders only count when they use a Scratcher discount code or a link with the campaign's ref value. Also remember that orders show the day after. - Revenue is in the wrong currency: the currency is read from Shopify when you connect. If you changed it in Shopify later, uninstall and connect the store again.
