Barcodes and redeeming prizes in store

Give winners a barcode to scan at the till, or a prize they redeem themselves at the counter.

If your prizes are collected in a store, give winners a barcode or let them redeem the prize on their phone in front of your staff.

Give a barcode

  1. Open the prize and select Barcode under Redemption method.
  2. Choose Fixed code for one barcode for everyone, or Unique codes and upload a list, the same way as discount codes.
  3. Click Settings (Manage barcode settings) to choose the barcode Type your tills can read: Code 39, Code 128, Interleaved 2 of 5 (ITF), EAN 8, EAN 13, UPC-A or UPC-E. You can also set the Bar thickness, Height and Color, turn on Use background color, and Include code as text below the bars.
  4. Check the Preview and save.

Barcodes are part of the higher plans.

Let winners redeem the prize at the counter

The Direct redemption add-on on the prize's Settings tab lets winners redeem the prize directly on their phone:

  1. The winner shows the prize page at the counter and presses the redeem button.
  2. The prize is marked as redeemed, and the code is shown for five minutes so your staff can see it.
  3. After that, the prize page shows that the prize has been used.

Set how long winners have to redeem the prize under Last redeem type: Hours from prize is won (with Hours before prize expires) or Specific date (with an Expiry date). Prizes that are not redeemed in time go back to the prize pool after the delay you set in Recycle prize duration - Hours and Recycle prize duration - Minutes. Choose the delay carefully, so a prize isn't handed out again while the first winner can still use it.

Only use direct redemption for prizes collected in person. For codes that winners use online or receive by email, don't use it.

The campaign's Prizes tab shows Won prizes, Redeemed prizes and Expired prizes.
