# Choose your campaign's web address

Pick a subdomain and a short address for your landing page, or use your own domain, such as win.yourbrand.com.

Every landing page campaign has a web address on Scratcher's domain. You can make it shorter and more recognisable, with your brand name as subdomain and a short word for the campaign.

## Choose a subdomain and address

1. In the editor, open **Settings** > **Embed & URL** > **Campaign URL**.
2. Under **Subdomain**, choose one from the list (it says **Select subdomain** until you choose).
3. To make a new one, choose **+ Create new**, type the subdomain, for example your brand name, and click **Save**. A subdomain can be used by all campaigns in your account.
4. Under **Use campaign URL**, type a short address for this campaign, such as "summer". The full address is shown below the field, and it is saved as you type.
5. Click **Live URL** or **Preview URL** to copy the link. You see **Copied to clipboard!**.

Subdomains and addresses can only use lowercase letters, numbers and hyphens. Other characters are turned into hyphens as you type. A subdomain must be unique across Scratcher, so you get a message if it is already taken.

> Choose the address before you share the link. If you change it later, check that the links in your newsletters, posts and QR codes still lead to the campaign.

## Use your own domain

You can run campaigns on your own domain, such as win.yourbrand.com. It needs the **Custom url** add-on or a plan that includes it, and it may not be available on every account yet. Setting it up takes a few steps on both sides, so contact our team in the chat to get started:

1. Our team adds the domain to your account and approves it. Until then, it says **Awaiting approval from Scratcher...**.
2. You get the DNS records (CNAME records) with **Type**, **Host** and **Points to**.
3. You or your IT team add the records where your domain is managed.
4. Click **Verify now**. When the records are found, the domain changes from **Pending** to **Active**. Click **Skip and get notified** if you want to come back later.

## Use your domain for a campaign

1. Open **Settings** > **Embed & URL** > **Custom URL**.
2. Under **Choose custom URL**, select your domain.
3. Type the address for this campaign after the slash.

The **View campaign** menu in the top bar then shows a **Custom URL** link with its own QR code. If **Custom URL** is greyed out in the **Embed & URL** panel, your plan doesn't include it. See [Add-ons: extra users, languages and features](https://scratcher.io/help/billing/add-ons).
