Social media is one of the best places to get people to play. Scratcher helps in four ways: it writes the posts for you, it lets you decide how the link looks when it is shared, it shows which network brings the most players, and it lets players share the campaign with their friends.
Make ready-to-post content for every network
The Share on social media button in the editor makes an example post and matching images for each network, based on your campaign's content and prizes.
- Open the campaign in the editor and click the share icon, Share on social media, in the top bar.
- Click Generate.
- In Game graphic, choose Let AI create a graphic, or Upload my own image and upload a picture of your game (Upload an image of your game).
- Turn on Add a headline on the image if you want a short headline on the image.
- Click Generate. Making the posts Takes about 2 minutes.
- Click a network at the top to see its post: Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, Threads, Pinterest, TikTok, Snapchat, X or Email.
- Click the copy button (Copy post text) to copy the text. Below the post you see how many characters it has.
- Click Download image on the image you want. There are three shapes: 4:5 for feeds, 9:16 for stories and reels, and 16:9. The best shape for the network you are looking at is marked Recommended.
- Open the network and paste the text and the image into a new post. Scratcher doesn't post for you.
Good to know:
- The posts and images are saved with the campaign. Open Share on social media again later to copy them, or click Regenerate for new versions.
- Making posts uses AI tokens. See AI tokens, data and privacy.
- Commercial usage: the generated text and images are yours to use, on social media or anywhere else in your marketing.
- If Scratcher can find your company's profiles on the networks, the follower count is shown under each network's name. Networks where it can't find a profile are greyed out, but you can still use their posts.

Choose how the link looks when it is shared
When someone shares your campaign link on Facebook, LinkedIn, in a chat or in a message, the network shows a preview card with a title, a short text and an image. You decide what it shows:
- In the editor, open Settings > Embed & URL > Metadata.
- Open Open Graph.
- Fill in the Title and Description, and upload an Image.
Under Favicon in the same panel, set the Title shown in the browser tab and the little Image next to it.
Fill in the Open Graph fields before you share the link for the first time. Networks keep their own copy of the preview card for a while, so later changes may take time to show up there.
Metadata is for landing page campaigns. A popup lives on your own website, so it uses your website's own preview.
See which network brings the most players
Make a channel for each network, such as "facebook", "instagram" and "linkedin", and use that channel's link in your posts. The campaign dashboard then shows the visitors and leads from each network, and each lead shows which channel it came from. See Track channels, Google Analytics and pixels.
With a Meta, TikTok or Snapchat pixel, you can also measure your paid social campaigns. See the same article.
Let players share the campaign with friends
Add the Share element to a page, for example the finish page, so players can tell their friends about the campaign.
- Click Insert in the editor, choose the Elements tab and add Share.
- Under Social icons, open a network to set its Background color, its own Image (instead of the standard icon), the icon's Size and Shape.
- For X (formerly Twitter), Pinterest, Whatsapp, Reddit, Telegram, Tumblr, Email and SMS, write a Description. It is used as the text of the shared post or message.
- Click Remove on networks you don't want. Click Add item to add one back.
- On the Styles tab, set the Size, Alignment and Gap of all icons.
When a player clicks an icon, the network opens in a new window with your campaign's address filled in. Facebook and LinkedIn take the title, text and image from your Open Graph settings, so set those first. Email opens the player's email program and SMS opens a new text message.
The Share element is also available in the email editor, so you can ask people to share the campaign from your campaign emails.
Add a share button
Any button can share the campaign:
- Click the button, open Navigation on the Content tab and choose Share.
- Write a Share message.
- Turn on Share URL to include a link, and enter the address you want shared, for example a channel link. If you leave the address empty, the campaign's own address is used.
On phones and tablets, the button opens the device's own share menu, so players can share to any app they have. Where there is no share menu, the link is copied so the player can paste it.
Link to your own social profiles
To send players to your company's own profiles, use the Social element instead. It shows icons that link to your pages on Facebook, Instagram and other networks. See Countdown, social, share and menu elements.
Ideas
- Pin the post to the top of your profile while the campaign runs.
- Use the 9:16 image in a story with a link sticker to the campaign.
- Post again a few days before the campaign ends, with a reminder of the end date.
- Put the Share element on the finish page with a description such as "I just played, try your luck too!".
