Every kind of competition in one place

Instant win

People find out right away if they've won, with a scratch card, a spin the wheel, a slot machine or a mystery box.

Everyone who enters joins the draw. Scratcher picks the winners daily, weekly, monthly or when the competition ends.

Stop fake entries and prize hunters
Fair play

Stop fake entries and prize hunters

A competition is only worth something if the entries are real. Scratcher has fair play built in, so one person can't win again and again with made-up email addresses.

  • One entry per email address or phone number

  • Decide how often each person can play

  • Throwaway email addresses are blocked, and you can block your own list of addresses and domains

  • Bot protection with reCAPTCHA

  • Optional verification code by email before an entry counts

  • A cap on the number of entries, if you want one

Prizes & winners

Prizes and winners on autopilot

Set the rules once, and Scratcher follows them for the whole competition. No spreadsheets and no drawing names from a hat.

  • Set how many prizes can be won in total, and when

  • Give every winner a unique discount code or barcode

  • Winners picked automatically on the days you choose

  • Winner emails sent for you (Email module: included on Professional, or as an add-on)

Consent & GDPR

Sign-ups with consent you can trust

Every competition collects personal data, so it has to be done right. You decide what you ask for, how you ask for consent and how long the data is kept.

  • Separate checkboxes for the competition and for your newsletter

  • Double opt-in, and consent sent to your email tool or CRM

  • Automatic deletion when the competition is over

  • ISO/IEC 27001 certified, EU hosting and a data processing agreement

Questions

Questions about online competitions

  • The words are often used for the same thing. In general, a giveaway or prize draw (called a sweepstakes in the US) picks winners by chance, while a competition or contest asks people to do something, such as answer a question or get the best score. Scratcher does both. Read instant win or prize draw to choose.

  • Yes. With a scratch card, spin the wheel, slot machine or mystery box, people see right away if they've won. You decide how many prizes there are and when they can be won, so there is still something to win at the end.

  • You can allow one entry per email address or phone number, decide how often people can play, require a verification code by email and add reCAPTCHA. Throwaway email addresses are blocked, and you can block your own list of addresses and domains. See also better lead quality from competitions.

  • Yes. You choose the fields and checkboxes in the form. Many brands keep the newsletter consent as a separate, optional checkbox, and only send people who said yes to their email tool. The rules differ from country to country, so check them before you launch.

  • Yes, but the rules depend on the country, for example on prize draws, prize tax and terms and conditions. Our guides on running competitions in Denmark and the EU and on competition terms and conditions cover what to check.

  • Yes. You can download your entries at any time, and send them automatically to tools such as HubSpot, Klaviyo, Mailchimp and Salesforce, or to 8,000+ apps through Zapier.
