How a spin the bottle game campaign works
A spin the bottle campaign takes a game most people remember from parties and turns it into an instant win game. People open your campaign, fill in a short form and tap the bottle. It spins around, slows down and stops pointing at one of the prize slices around it. That slice is what they win.
Under the hood, spin the bottle is the same game as the spin the wheel game. The only difference is that the bottle in the middle spins instead of the wheel. That means you get all the same settings: the number of slices, colours, icons, prizes and how often each prize can be won. You can switch from a bottle to a wheel, or back again, in the game settings.
Winners see their prize on the screen right away, and can get it by email with the Email module (included on Professional or as an add-on). Every sign-up goes on to your email tool or CRM through our integrations, so you can keep in touch after the game.
Because the setup is shared, you can also run both versions side by side. Use the wheel on your website and the bottle at an event, for example, and see which one people like best in your analytics.
When to use a spin the bottle game
Pick the bottle over the wheel when you want a lighter, more social mood. The bottle makes people think of friends, fun and good times, which is exactly the feeling many hospitality and drinks brands want to share:
- Drinks brands: put your own bottle in the middle and give away products.
- Bars, restaurants and cafés: a QR code on the table lets guests spin for a free drink or dessert.
- Summer and festivals: the party feel fits warm evenings, concerts and outdoor events.
- Social media giveaways: a playful game gets more clicks than a plain "comment to win" post.
- Themed campaigns: Friday bars, New Year's Eve or student parties.

- Mix a few big prizes with many small ones.
- Set limits in prizes, so prizes last all campaign.
- Think about age limits and local rules if you give away alcohol.

Tip #4: Bring it to where people are
- Put QR codes on tables, menus and posters.
- Share it on social media and in your newsletter.
- Show it as a pop-up on your website.

- Remind winners to use their code before it expires.
- Invite everyone to follow you on social media, so they see your next game.
