How a spin the wheel game campaign works
A spin the wheel campaign is simple for the player. They land on your campaign, fill in a short form, tap the button and watch the prize wheel spin. When it stops, the slice under the arrow decides what they win — a discount code, free shipping, a free gift or a "try again tomorrow".
For you, there is more going on. You decide how many slices the wheel has and what each one means. You set how many of each prize can be won and when, so there is still something to win on the last day. Winners see their prize on the screen (and by email with the Email module, included on Professional or as an add-on), and every sign-up is sent on to your email tool or CRM through our integrations.
You can also let people come back and spin again every day. That gives you more visits and more chances to show your products — and if you turn on auto-complete, returning players don't have to fill in the form again.
When to use a spin the wheel game
The wheel is our go-to format when the main goal is many sign-ups in a short time. It works well for:
- Lead generation: a chance to win is an easy reason to share an email. Read more about lead generation.
- Webshops: catch visitors before they leave with a wheel in a pop-up.
- Black Friday and Christmas: a wheel full of discounts gets people in the mood to shop.
- Anniversaries and openings: celebrate with prizes and invite new customers in.
- Live shopping and events: let viewers or visitors spin for prizes while you have their attention.
We see great results in retail, furniture, food and drink, energy and travel. Fleggaard got 21,000 newsletter subscribers from 34,000 participants in its first wheel campaign, and Davidsen gained almost 5,400 subscribers with an anniversary wheel used both online and in its stores.
6 ideas for your spin the wheel game

Tips for a spin the wheel game that converts
Tip #1: Use fewer, better slices
A wheel with too many slices is hard to read on a phone.
- Six to eight slices is often enough.
- Give each slice a short label people can read at a glance.
- Use a picture or icon for the biggest prize so it stands out.
Tip #2: Make most spins feel like a win
Nobody likes to leave empty-handed.
- Mix a few big prizes with many small ones, like free shipping or 10% off.
- Use discount codes as consolation prizes — they bring people to your shop.
- Set prize limits in prizes, so you never give away more than you planned.
Tip #3: Ask for the right data
- Ask for an email and a clear newsletter permission before the spin.
- Add one extra question only if you will use the answer.
Tip #4: Show the wheel in more than one place
- Run it as a pop-up on your webshop.
- Send it to your list by email and text message.
- Share it on social media and with QR codes in your store.
Tip #5: Follow up while people still remember you
The spin is only the start of the relationship.
- Send a welcome email the same day, with the prize or discount code repeated.
- Remind people who won a code to use it before it runs out.
- Look at the numbers in your analytics and use what you learn in your next wheel.
